There are many parks with paths that are perfect for long walks with you furry friends, including the Greenline, Wolf River, Tunica River Park, and Tom Lee Park (all the way from South Bluffs to Harbor Town), just to name a few.
But what about dog parks? If your dog is a social butterfly, then check out these dog parks and see which they like best!
Overton Bark - at Overton Park. They have a large dog side and a small dog side. There's many great trails too if you like to walk on leash. Stop over at the lake and let you dog take a quick dip (on leash of course) and cool down after a few laps around the Bark.
The Outback at Shelby Farms Park - Over 100 acres for off leash activities for you and your 4 legged friends. There are several lakes for dog paddling and trails to walk/run/bike. There are many bikers that ride through so this may not be a good spot if your dog is afraid of bicycles. It also is not completely fenced, so if your dog gets super excited and takes off when he's let off leash, this may not be the best place. But the rest of the park has great trail options for on leash walks too. They often have food truck rodeos on the weekends, so you can hike or drive over to the visitors center and grab a bite while you're out!
The Barking Lot - a new downtown dog park! Completely fenced, it's a small refuge for downtown dogs to get their social fix.
Avery Dog Park - near the board of education, this is a convenient, completely fenced location. They also have a large dog and small dog side. It's next to the skate park so owners can watch the skaters while their dogs get their exercise. This is a large area, plenty of room to run and chase balls till their hearts content!
